Having saxophone lessons. You need to learn to tongue your notes. If you can achieve this, your tone will improve dramatically and you will be in control of your instrument. Addressing your posture: you can now focus on breathing and engaging your diaphragm, as these are the foundations used to learning any woodwind instrument. Simple exercises are used to help understand time values and begin your journey in the language of music. Scales are introduced very early being a vital part of improvisation. Once you can perform a simple melody and scale you can now being to explore your instrument through improvisation. You are in control of your progress, the more you put in the more you will achieve. Making learning fun and interesting is our job, you will be encouraged every step of the way and shown easy methods for you to achieve the best from the available time you have to practice.

Further studies

Advancing to the next level is always possible with determination and commitment. Establishing a regular time to practice will be important to progress. While exam boards have fantastic studies expertly chosen to aid progression they are not the only way to become a musician. Throughout history great musicians have listened to what has come before them and learnt the songs, riffs, licks and studies previous artists they have created or studied themselves.
